Riveting Sealing Application - CAP® Rivet
Product Category: Riveting Technology
In the early days, the filling port of the battery was encapsulated using laser cold welding. This method has disadvantages: first of all, the welding process is difficult. Due to stains on the filling port, there are pores, explosive spots, cracking caused by stress and deformation during welding. The heat stress on the material is another critical factor which could weaken the material locally. Secondly, the cost of weld and inspection is high.
In the past two years, major battery manufacturers and electric vehicle manufacturers have proposed revolutionary sealing solutions and have already achieved mass production. This sealing method uses closed rivets to seal the battery filling port, which can completely avoid the adverse conditions caused by welding and can achieve the connection of different materials. It ensures the safety of the battery case material and battery filling port sealing.
GESIPA provides a safe and reliable solution - GESIPA closed end rivets with the high safety requirements of battery filling port sealing and the connection of different materials. We implement strict control at all stages from early development to mass production to ensure that all dimensions of deformation and technical parameters after riveting meet product design requirements. We actively embrace customer demand, and help customers reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Application: Sealing of energy storage unit battery filling port
