In many surface heat treatment processes or small batch production, laser systems and processing optic need to be flexible to convert matches to ensure suitable for different geometrical shapes of the workpiece. The solution provided by Laserline is the OTZ variable spot optic. The optic is capable of providing a square spot that can be adjusted in size and homogenized. Therefore, only one optic is required to provide a light spot of different sizes and different aspect ratios. This avoids replacing the optic and re-adjustemnt. This has advantages, for example, in applications such as mold hardening.
