AMTS 2017, the leading event for automotive materials, design, technology and equipment, quality and assembling, and engineering and service technologies, has closed successfully at Shanghai New International Expo Center on September 8. The exhibition, with the theme “the future is now”, presented the latest products, technologies and solutions in automobile engineering. It also brought to the visitors the most innovative technologies, including AR/VR, IoT, 3D monitoring and smart factories, to promote Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025.

On a record-breaking 80,000 square meter, AMTS 2017 attracted 575 exhibitors from 30 countries. During the four days of the exhibition, 68,739 professional visitors from 29 countries attended the exhibition, up 24.6% from 2016 and the highest in AMTS’s eleven-year history. However, AMTS 2017 offers much more than these exciting figures.

Get-together of leading system integrators and first-/second-tier suppliers in auto engineering
The exhibition gathers leading system integrators and first-/second-tier suppliers in auto engineering, including ABB, KUKA, FANUC, Siemens, Liebherr, Ston Robot, Index, Güdel, OTC, Staubli, NACHI, BOZHON, MINO, Phoenix, Han’s Laser, HGLASER, Yaskawa, Fronius, JUNYI, WEBEN, EISENMANN, SMC, Universal-Robots, SEW, and SmartState. Through the exhibition of smart, innovative auto engineering solutions, AMTS addresses the trends in the industry and its development.



Fourteen exhibition zones present solutions for the entire auto manufacturing industry
To offer more efficient opportunities for business matchmaking and exchanges between exhibitors and visitors from similar backgrounds, AMTS 2017 designed 14 exhibition zones that covers the four major auto manufacturing techniques, auto parts manufacturing, smart logistics, auto design and pilot production. Among them, the Powertrain Assembly Zone and Techshow Zone are best received. Mr. Liu Zuobin, Director and Vice GM of Fujian Nebula Electronics, says, “We think AMTS is a very good exhibition. It is very big and well designed. So the visitors are exactly who we are looking for. For example, the Powertrain Assembly Zone in Hall E7 gathers a lot of important exhibitors in engine, gearbox, power lithium battery, motor assembly and testing. Such concentration enables the visitors to see the technology and equipment at the same location. It also helps us find the target customers more efficiently. This is very good for us.”



Meanwhile, as the robotics technology develops, especially in vision technology and collaboration robots, more and more human positions are replaced by robots. The auto production lines are getting closer to “non-lights factories”.

At the Techshow Zone, a lot of unimaginable “Black Technologies” are displayed, e.g. the “Smart Matrix Manufacturing Solution” exhibited by KUKA, the enery-saving module MSE6-E2M exhibited by Festo, the TechViz Catia V5 Virtual Display and the Siemens NX 3D Data Model help the visitors see the future of smart manufacturing. Naturally, a lot of visitors stopped and tried to find out more.



Over 100 support programs offers more technological and business exchange opportunities
Exciting, productive support programs have been a major attraction at AMTS. This year, AMTS 2017 has again upgraded its programs and includes a wide variety of areas like auto manufacturing, parts production and new energy vehicle engineering. Over 5,000 technicians and decision-makers attended the programs. Over 100 system integrators and 100 first-/second-tier suppliers presented their latest products, technologies, and solutions and made face-to-face communication with the audiences. Forever Exhibition, the organizer of AMTS, organized over 300 business matchmakings and, for the first time, offered guided tours.

What is worth special mentioning is the guided tour. The tours are very well designed to offer highly efficient visiting and to promote the communication between the exhibitors and visitors. The tours include machine engineering, laser engineering, welding engineering, AL Engineering, fully-automatic factories and auto production techniques. All the tour routes are combinations of leading industry players, the latest technologies and solutions, with a professional guide supporting the entire tour. The tours are very well received.

The support programs are very good reflections of Forever Exhibition’s concept: based on technological communication and concentrate on business matchmaking. The concept is also accepted by the exhibitors. Mr. Gong Xuepei, GM of WEBEN Smart, says, “We have made very good results at AMTS every year. AMTS 2017 has closed successfully, with applauses and cheers. In the next year, AMTS will again open with a renewed structure. We look forward to a reunion at Halls W1, W2, W3, E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, Shanghai New International Expo Center on July 4-7, 2018.
